For a typical setup covering 400 square meters, including the tent, we estimate a total power requirement of 900 watts (0.9kW). To allow for additional flexibility and prevent overloading, we recommend using a 2.5kW inverter generator.

Choosing the Right Generator

A quiet inverter generator is the best choice for events, as it provides stable power without interfering with the atmosphere. These generators are widely available from general hire companies such as Kennards Hire or similar local providers.

Best Practices for Placement

Distance & Noise Reduction:
Place the generator at least 20 meters away from the main event area to minimize noise.

Safety & Ventilation:
Ensure the generator is in a well-ventilated area, away from enclosed spaces or flammable materials.

Power Lead Management:
Standard power leads can effectively run up to 30 meters before voltage drop becomes an issue. Beyond this, a power distribution board or a more powerful generator may be required.
